Lezing "Zin en onzin van voedingssupplementen: voorbeelden uit de sport" |

Op 19 september organiseert KVCV sectie Voeding een lezing over de zin en onzin van voedingssupplementen, met een speciale focus op hun toepassing in de sport. Spreker professor Wim Derave, bewegingswetenschapper aan UGent, zal ingaan op de wetenschappelijke basis, effectiviteit en mogelijke risico's van deze producten. Ontdek welke supplementen echt werken en welke simpelweg een duur placebo zijn. Dit evenement is een must voor iedereen die betrokken is bij voeding, van wetenschappers tot atleten. Registreer voor 20 augustus en geniet van de early bird korting.

41ste Vlaamse Chemie Olympiade (VCO) - editie 2024 |

Op zondag 26 mei 2024 werd Aaron Verniest (Sint-Lodewijkscollege Sint-Andries) tijdens de proclamatie van de Vlaamse Olympiades voor Natuurwetenschappen (VONW) uitgeroepen tot winnaar van de 41ste Vlaamse Chemie Olympiade. De laureaat ontving namens de KVCV een prachtig kristal.

Photochimica 2024 |

This year, the European Young Chemists’ Network (EYCN) will host the fifth edition of its Photochimica photo competition in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Young chemists (below 35 years old) are invited to send in their creative photos on the theme "Elements in Chemistry".
The principal purpose of this competition is to encourage young chemists to get creative in the field of chemistry. In doing this, we hope that they will inspire others to think and talk about science in new and different ways and illustrate in the importance of chemistry in our lives.

The 2nd edition of the EFMC International Symposium on Chemical Biology will be held in Basel, Switzerland from January 29 to 31, 2025 and will be jointly organised by the European Federation for Medicinal chemistry and Chemical biology (EFMC) and the Swiss Chemical Society, Division for Medicinal Chemistry & Chemical Biology (DMCCB).
All participants are invited to submit abstracts for oral communications and poster presentations.
Abstract submission deadlines:

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the IUPAC 2025 Distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Awards. The purpose of the awards program, initiated as part of the 2011 International Year of Chemistry celebrations, is to acknowledge and promote the work of women in chemistry/chemical engineering worldwide.
Nominations should be received by 1 November 2024.
