Verkiezing Bestuursorgaan KVCV: oproep kandidaten |

De algemene vergadering van KVCV verkiest dit voorjaar nieuwe bestuurders voor een termijn van 3 jaar. Het bestuursorgaan telt minstens 4 tot maximaal 8 bestuurders waarvan een algemeen voorzitter, ondervoorzitter, secretaris-generaal, penningmeester. Alle functies worden vacant gesteld.
Hierbij doen we een oproep aan geïnteresseerden om zich kandidaat te stellen voor een functie in het bestuursorgaan. Kandidaturen kunnen gesteld worden door een e-mail met korte motivatie en beknopt curriculum vitae te sturen naar voorzitter@kvcv.be met kopie naar thomas.vranken@kvcv.be. De kandidaturen worden ingewacht tot en met 14 april 2025.
Graag verwijzen we naar de Statuten van KVCV vzw voor bijkomende informatie over waar een kandidatuur dient aan te voldoen.

10th EuChemS Chemistry Congress - Follow our channels |

In 2026, KVCV will proudly host the 10th EuChemS Chemistry Congress (ECC10) in Antwerp, Belgium. This biennial event, organized under the auspices of EuChemS, the European Chemical Society, is the most prominent chemistry congress on the European continent.
From July 12–16, 2026, more than 1600 participants from around the globe will gather at the Flanders Meeting & Convention Center Antwerp to engage in scientific exchange, showcase innovation, and discuss the future of chemistry.
ECC10 will feature:

Clean Industrial Deal: positief signaal, maar woorden nu snel omzetten in daden |

Tijdens een Europese industrietop in de Handelsbeurs in Antwerpen hebben meer dan 400 CEO’s en bedrijfsleiders uit verschillende Europese industriesectoren opgeroepen om de Clean Industrial Deal, die recent is voorgesteld door de Europese Commissie, snel en effectief uit te voeren. De oproep voor een daadkrachtig en assertief Europees industriebeleid gebeurde in aanwezigheid van Europees Commissievoorzitter Ursula von der Leyen, eerste minister Bart De Wever en Vlaams minister-president Matthias Diependaele. Chemie- en farmafederatie essenscia rekent nu op snelle en concrete maatregelen.

UGent bouwt wetenschapscampus van de toekomst op Campus Sterre |

De Universiteit Gent ontvangt een vergunning voor onderzoeksgebouw S11 op Campus Sterre. Het gebouw zal komen langs De Pintelaan, op een strategische locatie binnen de campus en zal de onderzoeksactiviteiten van de vakgroepen chemie bundelen. Dit project zet een renovatiecyclus in gang voor bestaande gebouwen op de campus, die dateren uit de jaren ’70. De renovaties zullen de volledige site duurzamer en energiezuiniger maken.

The International Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry (ICGSC2025) will now take place as a joint event, co-organized with the 7th EuChemS GSC Division Conference. The conference will be held at Eötvös University, Budapest, Hungary, from June 1-5, 2025. This conference provides an excellent opportunity to present research and engage with experts in the field of sustainable chemistry.
During the event, the European Sustainable Chemistry Award (ESCA 2025) will be presented. 12th EFMC Young Medicinal Chemists' Symposium: Call for abstracts |

The 12th edition of the EFMC Young Medicinal Chemists' Symposium will be held in Porto, Lisbon on September 4-5, 2025 and will be organised by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology (EFMC) and the EFMC Young Scientists Network (YSN). The event will be organised in connection with the X EFMC International Symposium on Advances in Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC-ASMC 2025).
Great news, oral communication slots are back in the EFMC-YMCS programme! Up to 6 early-career researchers will have the opportunity to present their scientific work to the audience of 200+ attendees.
Abstract submissions are also open for:

- A poster session accessible to all researchers
