Lecture: Metal-Organic Frameworks by Vapor Deposition |

On 23 February 2026, KVCV is organizing a lecture on the innovative fabrication of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) using vapor deposition techniques such as CVD and MLD. The speaker is Dr. Alexander (Alex) Cruz.
The lecture will take place at KU Leuven, Campus Arenberg, starting at 7:00 pm, followed by a reception. Free for members, registration required.

ECC10 Update – Abstract Milestone & Registrations Opening Soon! |

We are pleased to announce that ECC10 has received over 1,500 abstracts from researchers representing more than 70 countries worldwide — a strong signal of the international enthusiasm for the congress.
Registrations will open very soon, so be sure to keep an eye on the ECC10 website and secure your place once registration goes live.
Bursaries and travel grants are already available on the congress website, including full information on eligibility criteria and deadlines.
One of the available programs is the KVCV/SRC Bursary. Bursaries for KVCV (Royal Flemish Chemical Society) and SRC (Walloon Royal Chemical Society) members are available to PhD students at a Belgian university who actively attend ECC10.

Antwerp call to action: chemiesector vraagt dringende Europese actie |

Tijdens de European Industry Summit in Antwerpen heeft essenscia Europese leiders opgeroepen om snelle noodmaatregelen te nemen om de concurrentiekracht van de energie-intensieve industrie te herstellen.
Volgens een rapport van Deloitte is er op 83% van de competitiviteitsindicatoren geen verbetering sinds de Antwerp Declaration. De sector kampt met hoge energie- en productiekosten, oneerlijke concurrentie en een zwak investeringsklimaat.
De oproep werd gelanceerd in aanwezigheid van onder meer Ursula von der Leyen.
De kernboodschap: Europa moet nú handelen om industrie, jobs en investeringen veilig te stellen.

Registration is now open for the 13th edition of the EFMC Young Medicinal Chemists' Symposium (EFMC Young Scientists).
The 1.5-day symposium will take place on 10–11 September 2026 at the Novartis Campus in Basel. The event is jointly organised by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology (EFMC) and the EFMC Young Scientists Network (YSN), and will be held in connection with EFMC Medicinal Chemistry 2026.
The symposium offers early career researchers a unique platform for networking and sharing cutting-edge research in medicinal chemistry.
