Position overview

Are you interested in learning more about Global Process Safety Management (PSM) in the world leading industrial coating resins company? We are looking for Global PSM Engineer who can provide direction, technical support and a high level of expertise to the implementation of safe processes compliant with our policies and standards, government regulatory requirements and applicable international standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Process Safety Management System.
  • Drive process safety improvement through Process Hazard Assessment (PHA), analysis, risk assessments and training.
  • Understanding of the performance, risk and compliance profiles of the sites.
  • Drive the SHE strategy and policy consistently in all sites and provide SHE expertise and development support to site SHE teams.
  • Facilitate best practice transfer.
  • Support or initiate risk reduction, behavioural and compliance plans.
  • Build effective relationship with SHE team members and Site Managers.
  • Advance an understanding of SHE management systems and best practices through dialogue, training, planning, measurement and demonstration.
  • Assist sites in implementing key SHE objectives, effective management and compliance, and SHE MS.
  • Follow-up of the roll-out of global SHE performance improvement initiatives.

Required skills and experience

  • 10 years working experience, of which 3 in a SHE leading role.
  • Process safety engineering concepts.
  • Managed a site PSM program & demonstrated continuous improvement in performance while in role.
  • Solid technical skillset including practical experience with chemical & mechanical plant operations & equipment.
  • Demonstrated team & project leadership abilities (e.g. PHA, PSSR, audits & root cause).
  • Proven experience delivering training & mentoring others.
  • Experience with worldwide operations, and understands challenges in doing business with multinational programs, regulations, & cultures.
  • The role is conducted in an office & industrial environment. Manufacturing environments require the ability to climb ladders & stairs and are often not enclosed therefore subject to ambient conditions plus elevated levels of heat, noise, nuisance dust & fumes.
  • Business acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Pragmatic individual who is self-motivated, organized and driven by continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer with additional degree in Safety, Health & Environment.
  • Continuous education is required to keep up with evolving regulations.
