In this lecture Ecover’s journey will be addressed. Starting off at a small farm in Belgium and at the moment world leading company in ecological cleaning and laundry products. The presentation will take you through the hurdles and successes regarding business aspects as well as technological challenges.

Elke Theeuwes graduated form the University of Leuven in 2007, as Bio-engineer. She started working as a researcher at the University College Karel de Grote Antwerp. There she worked on projects on pure plant oil to be used in car engines and single cell oils. Since 2011 she works at the R&D department of Ecover, first as a researcher and later on as a project co-ordinator raw material development. In this position she co-ordinates several research projects for Ecover, in collaboration with national and international research institutions and companies.
